Could Be a Keeper
Alright. So this guy I went out with on Sunday could be a keeper. Since I rather enjoy reading about Jodie's descriptions and the anonimity she keeps, I will refer to him as my New Friend (NF)... hope you don't mind Jodie. :o)
I'm not really sure where to start so I guess I'll just say that I met him at a baseball game on Memorial day. He goes to my church, but I had never met him before. He was at the game because he is friends with the guy who was in town that weekend and who wanted to see a Phils game.
While at the game, I mentioned to all those in attendance that I had a couple extra tickets to the Phils/White Sox game and that it was a business person special, so if anyone wanted to take off on a Wednesday, they were welcome to join me. Wouldn't you know this guy accepted?
There is this guy at my church, one of the Elders, who is heading up my singles ministry as our advisor and we've been having weekly meetings with him. The weekend after Memorial day, our meeting was at his house. I was one of the first ones there and was sitting in the kitchen eating a bagel when my NF walked in! He looked at me like he was shocked to see me. Then his roommate (his name is Ted) said, "Tracie, have you met my roommate yet?" Very funny.
So later that week, at our next leadership meeting, I gave my NF's ticket to Ted and the next day emailed my NF to be sure the ticket was given to him. That started an email dialog between us that finally culminated in my NF saying he was going to stop by my sunday school classroom to say hello and (if I was lucky) he'd see if I wanted to grab coffee or lunch after church! (I told him that if he was lucky, I'd take him up on the offer)
At lunch that Sunday, he laid out his intentions and I was shocked and flattered all at the same time. I am not used to men being so honest.
Wow! So then he came to the game with me on Wednesday... and I even introduced him to my sister and her fiance who came along too. After the game, my NF took me home and we hung out with my mom's dog, Beatrice for a while then went to Starbucks and just sat there and talked (and held hands)for a few hours. Then he took me back to my mom and dad's house again (I had stayed there the night before so my car was there).
He asked if he could walk me to the door and I told him he could come in if he wanted... and he did! I actually introduced him to my mom! I have never introduced anyone I've dated to my parents before so that was pretty huge.
We are going out again on Friday.
I know I've only known him for 2 weeks, but I am thinking that he could be a keeper.
I have more and I will write more later... but I risk being late for a meeting.

Sometimes I almost type his name instead of NF; I'm going to stick with it a little longer :-)
