Tracie, Just Tracie

Because I miss my friends who are now all over the country (and globe) I decided to follow the crowd and let you know what I am up to without overcrowding inboxes with mass emails (which no one likes anyway). This is nothing spectacular. It is just my thoughts on life and things I have been doing to keep myself busy and entertained.

Baseball!

So, I have become a HUGE baseball fan over the past few years. This may come as a shock to many of you, but those who I assume will be shocked will probably remember my excitement when the White Sox won the World Series, so it may not be as much of a shock as I anticipate it to be.

Well, I am currently in a position where I have people who want to give me things to make me like them. It is all part of my job. All of the vendors with whom I work like to give me stuff so that I will like them. Many of these vendors have season tickets to the Phillies and have offered me tickets whenever I want them. You know what? I have not been shy about that offer at all this past week!

I emailed one vendor last Sunday to see if he could hook me up with tickets to a Phillies/Mets game on April 16th. He came through. My seats are 9 rows behind home plate! (That means I will probably even be on TV) The tickets also come with $30 credit for concessions and souveniers and free parking! How cool is that??

Another company gave me tickets to see the Cubs when they come to Philly in May. Those seats are on the first base line, also 9 rows back.

Still another company is giving me tickets to see the White Sox on the rare occasion that they will be in town. I have to tell you I am super excited about that game! My dad got me tickets to see the first night, this vendor is giving me tickets for one of the games, and the first company (the one who gave me tickets to Monday's game) is providing tickets for the 3rd game in that series. Woo hoo!!

So, there is this other company that Paul (the guy I work with) told me had offered him tickets, so I emailed my contact there and told her, "Ann, I hear you have Phillies tickets you would like to give away and I would be very happy to take them from you." Yeah. It was a pretty shameless attempt but I needed to take it! Turns out her company does not have tickets after all. BUT she called me yesterday and told me that on occasion her company gets tickets but the account manager needs to go with the client. So, she asked me if I would mind going with her?? I told her of course not because it would probably be fun to go with her because she is great. She is one of my favorite vendors with whom I work. Okay. She's my second favorite.

My first favorite is my special vendor friend that you all know well by now. So, on Thursday, I called him and he thought I had good news about one of his candidates. I told him, "Well, this is the part where Tracie begs shamelessly". Then I asked if his company had tickets they wanted to give to me. He said they did not, BUT he could easily arrange it so that he could take me! (he also offered to take Paul, but Paul is not a baseball fan and told me to have fun.) Yesterday, was really my day off (I may write more details about that later, but it depends on how much time I have left), but I checked my email and I had a message from him that said he got tickets 8 rows behind the Phils dugout for April 26 for the Phillies/Nationals game! I was not expecting that to happen so quickly, especially since he has been promising to take me and Paul out for dinner since this August! But, he is a baseball guy and I must have hit on something that excited him as much as it did me, so he moved quickly.

I do not know if I am going with just him, or with him and a couple other people from his company. I just know that I now need to get a new outfit!
