Tracie, Just Tracie

Because I miss my friends who are now all over the country (and globe) I decided to follow the crowd and let you know what I am up to without overcrowding inboxes with mass emails (which no one likes anyway). This is nothing spectacular. It is just my thoughts on life and things I have been doing to keep myself busy and entertained.

Men

I think the last time I wrote I mentioned a couple guys I was dating.

Well, one guy was an IT recruiter (like me) and it turned out that he was really dating me because he wanted to get into the company I staff for and the only way other IT staffing companies can get in there is through me. It's too bad because I really liked him too. Oh well, his loss I say!

So the other guy is a high school social studies teacher and I cannot get rid of him! I keep trying but he keeps calling me! I tried breaking up with him. I really did. I told him that I did not see the relationship going anywhere and his response was that he thought is had potential and wanted to keep trying at it. I tried so hard and he still thinks we're dating! When I don't call him, he calls me to find out why. It's insane. I've now taken some advice in not even answering his calls and that makes me feel so mean, but I know it is what I have to do because in the long run it is just not fair to him.

Now, there is that vendor I work with and with whom I am constantly flirting. We've only met in person twice and the first time I was so sick I could not even talk. Seriously. I could not talk because I had lost my voice that week.

Well, some slight background information on this one. Last weekend a few friends and I went to the Camden aquarium because it was Button the Hippo's birthday. While at the exhibit, a few kids (ages somewhere in the 5-7 range) started fighting so I told them, "I do not want to see that anymore". They stopped for a while then acted up again so I told them (rather firmly) "that's enough! Stop it now!" and they did! They deserved it though because they were full out punching eachother! (Oh another funny thing that happened in that exhibit was that some African bird pooped on Shaun.)

So, I mentioned having yelled at the children to my vendor friend and he kept teasing me about it. Then on Friday, we started emailing about weekend plans and he asked if I was going back to the aquarium to 'berate semi-innocent children'. I told him that I was not going back but added that if he ever wanted to go to let me know because I am always up for a trip to the aquarium. You know what? He responded that it sounded like that would be a fun trip.

I think I totally (completely accidentally) asked him out and I think he took me up on it but I am not sure. Today when we spoke we acted like we were almost nervous or embarrased to talk to eachother. Very strange, but very fun at the same time.
