Tracie, Just Tracie

Because I miss my friends who are now all over the country (and globe) I decided to follow the crowd and let you know what I am up to without overcrowding inboxes with mass emails (which no one likes anyway). This is nothing spectacular. It is just my thoughts on life and things I have been doing to keep myself busy and entertained.

Leaving Never Felt So Good

So, my last day at Galaxy is on Friday.

People at the company I staff for have finally been told that I am leaving and you know what? They are throwing me a party on Friday! No lie!

My boss is only onsite a couple days a week because he is based out of Somerset, NJ (which is pretty far away from King of Prussia). As I suspected, he (and my company) have not said anything about my leaving. In fact, today when Ryan left, he just packed up his laptop and left and never said anything to me! I am not going to see this guy again before Friday. Obvously I was pretty upset by it.

So, since I am leaving, and have really good relationships with everyone at this company we staff for (I don't want to put the name here because it's a major e-commerce company), I wandered the building yesterday and today to let people know I was leaving. My boss actually told me that people at GSI have better things to do than say goodbye to me and that they don't care that much. Meanwhile, our office door was a revolving door of people who I had not seen yet coming to say goodbye and tell me how much I have meant to them and how much I am going to be missed. Not to mention they are throwing a party for me!

I guess he is in a state of denial and very angry that I am leaving. Yet, neither he nor the other guy I work with have started to shadow me to find out how I do my job and they know that what I do holds everything together. Sometimes I wonder if they are trying to fail.

Nevertheless, I am working on documenting ever aspect of my job so that I don't leave them high and dry on Monday.

Still, I can't help but wonder if I will be getting several phone calls on Monday asking me how to do certain things.
