Indian Food
When Dave and I first started dating, he was very excited that I did not eat meat because he just knew I would like Indian food and was shocked that I had never tried it before. At the time my car was not running, so he needed (actually he volunteered) to come out to the suburbs all of the time to see me. There was an Indian place not far from where I live, so we made an attempt to go, only to find that it was closed for rennovations, so we ended up going to some other places in Bryn Mawr (there is a lot in my town). About a week later we made a 2nd attempt at Indian by going to yet another Indian place in my area. The food was good, but not something that I would have wanted again, but since we had only been dating for a couple weeks, I couldn't tell him that I was not impressed.
Well, I finally got a car (I'll give details later, if I have not yet) so we made plans that I would meet him in the city for dinner when I was done work. He was really excited to take me to the place he often goes for lunch. You guessed it. Indian. At this point, we've been hanging out for close to three months, so you'd think that I could tell him that I was not that into the Indian food I had with him before, but because he was so excited about taking me to this place, I couldn't do it. Nor did I really think I needed to at this point.
Well, I met him at this place and you know what? It was really good. It was so good that I could probably eat it every night. Seriously. What I had at the last place was really bland, but what I had last night was full of flavor and spice and it was just great.
Dave goes to this place quite often, so he knows the owner pretty well. The guy kept coming over to make sure we were doing alright. It was cute. The guy, Ram, told me that he was happy I came and Dave told him that he has been trying to get me to come out for Indian for a long time. So, I told the guy that Dave and I tried a place by where I live but that it was not very good but that his food was excellent. When Ram walked away, Dave smiled at me and told me that he didn't want Ram to know that he goes to other Indian restaurants. :o)
Oh, well!
I really like this guy. He's fun. We'll see though... I'm not about to put all of my eggs into any baskets at this point.
