Tracie, Just Tracie

Because I miss my friends who are now all over the country (and globe) I decided to follow the crowd and let you know what I am up to without overcrowding inboxes with mass emails (which no one likes anyway). This is nothing spectacular. It is just my thoughts on life and things I have been doing to keep myself busy and entertained.

Typical Tracie

Okay,
So this morning I got up very early and went down to Lincoln Financial Field, in Philadelphia, to audition to sing the national anthem.
I was not nervous at all, at least I didn't think I was.
But then it happened....
I got up on the stage that was set up on the field, started singing and all the sudden I didn't remember the words! So I looked at the judges and said "I am so sorry! I forgot the words!" So they told me to try again, and I did, but I forgot the words again, right after "Oh Say! Can you see?" I just went completely blank. So I laughed and told the judges I would stop taking up their time and they stopped me and told me to try again until I got it. I laughed and said "I guess it can't get any worse, right?" (They just laughed with me)
Then! everyone in the stands started to cheer me on! It was so funny!!!
The 3rd time was the charm and I sang it flawlessly. One judge was so sweet because she was mouthing the words as I sang. Too funny.
My parents said they saw me on the 6:00 news. I was standing in line. The station I was watching did not show it at all! I'm going to watch at 11:00 tonight because I want to see if they highlight me, the only person to forget the words.
I was just so focused on NOT forgetting the words that I did. Too funny!! BUT!! I now have a great story. Next year, I will try again and will also try out for the Phillies, Sixers, and Flyers too!
It was such a rush standing on the field that the Eagles play on! How many times am I going to have that opportunity!
I am posting a couple pictures that I took.
The first is a view of the stands from the field. The other is a view of Citizen's Bank Park (where the Phillies play) from Lincoln Financial Field. I took that one because I liked the view of the downtown skyline in the back.
