Do You Believe in Life After Love?
I totally forgot to write about this!
A couple weeks ago, Lola came down and she, Keiler the Dog, and I went to Ocean City. We had fun even though it was rainy and cold.
Our first adventure of the trip was Friday night. She came down and I took her on a social outing with my church. It was bowling and I think we had fun really sucking at it.
After making our appearance at the bowling activity she and I left to go back to my house to get Keiler then headed down to Jersey. It was about 9:30 or so at this point. We got as far as the Walt Whitman bridge, one of the bridges leading into New Jersey, and I realized I did not have the house key!! So, we turned around, drove back through the city and went back to my house. By this point it was raining and it was about 10:30 so she and I decided that we would stay at my house, get up early and go in the morning. And that is what we did.
The next morning we left in record time and got down to the beach house and found the door wide open! I guess a real estate agent took some potential renter through it and did not close the door. Stupid if you ask me. Lola joked that we didn't need to turn around! She was right.
So, at the shore we really just relaxed and did much of nothing. We walked around town to look in some of the shops so that Lo could find a sweatshirt. That was fun seeing that it was raining so hard and was so cold! Wouldn't you know that on the way back I stepped in a big puddle and then Lola droped her new sweat shirt in another puddle. Crazy.
We watched Pirates of the Caribbean! Neither of us had seen the movie all the way through and you know what? It is really good! Laura ended up watching it the next day too! (I was too busy stamping... I'll explain that one later)
Now, the most memorabe moment for me was on the way home.
We listened to this radio station in Philly that is unlike ANY station I have ever heard before! I like to compare the station, BEN FM, to a really bad mix tape. I'm serious here. This station's slogan is "we play what we feel like" and they really do! I do not know of another station that will play Fleetwood Mac followed by Michael Jackson, then WHAM! then The Foo Fighters, Faith Hill and wrap it up with Poison. But, you find yourself singing along with every song they play.
Well, when Cher's "Believe" came on while we were stuck in Philadelphia traffic, I had to sing along with it! The windows were down, I turned the radio up and sang at the TOP of my lungs and car dancing to it behind the steering wheel. Laura thought I was nuts and would not join in and attempted to hide herself. I don't know why she did that. "Believe" is just a song you have to sing with, don't you think?
Laura did join me on the next song though... I just wish I could remember what it was.
