Baltimore
Have I mentioned I love Baltimore?
That's not the point of this post but just thought I'd mention it.
So, on Friday, Dan Trista and I drove down to Baltimore. On Saturday morning we went to the National Aquarium and had a great time! For some reason, hearing Dan identify the fish by their names just made me laugh so hard that by the time we got to the end, Trista and I would get to a tank and point out a fish (or frog) and ask Dan to tell us what it was. I really don't know why we thought it was so funny, but it was to us!
As we neared the end we looked outside and saw a Chipotle right outside and all three of us looked at eachoter and said "I guess we know where we are going for lunch!" So, we looked at the frog exhibit and ran right over there!
After our yummy lunch we walked about 6 blocks to Camden Yards adn met my parents, Jamie and Kenn and watched the White Sox play the Orioles! I was so excited! I was slighly disappointed because Paul Konerko did not play 1st base but his replacement for the evening hit a grand slam the night before, so how bad could he really be, right?
The man behind me had 2 young kids with him and each time a player got up to bat on kid would ask if he was a good player, and the dad would read his stats on the screen and tell him yes or no. Of course, all of the White Sox were good players, but I may be somewhat biased. When Jermaine Dye got up the kid asked and the dad answered so I turned around and told the dad that he was the World Series MVP. The mom got a kick out of that one.
Another very fun thing about the evening was that a high majority of the people sitting in my section were White Sox fans and we all played off of eachother. It was GREAT!
I have to say I was disappointed in the pitching staff. Although I don't mind watching Jon Garland, Ozzie should have taken him off the mound a lot sooner than he did. But then he replaced him with relief pitchers I did not recognize. Well, I knew who McCarthy was. When he came out to relieve Garland, Dan turned to me and said "he's lanky" and I said, "No. He's a rookie". Then Dan said, "I said he's lanky." And I laughed and said, "I thought you said he was a Yankee!"
In the 8th inning I moved over to sit by Jamie and I talked to Kenn (who is also a White Sox fan) and asked him where Neal Cotts was! And Kenn told me that Neal Cotts was out right before McDougall. I don't believe him because I kept telling Trista to watch for him but my dad insists that he was out there too. I still don't believe it so I have to research that one. But then Bobby Jenks came out in the ninth and everyone in my section cheered so loud! It was great!
The White Sox won and it was the perfect ending to a perfect day! So much fun.
