Hippos. Cute and Cuddly Until They Bite You in Half.

Yesterday, we had some repair men in the office because they were working on the heating/air conditioning system.

One of them came into my office to work on a vent I had under my "project" desk (I have 2 desks. 1 has a computer one has a large area where I can work on projects). Another one came in to see what the first guy was doing and saw my hippo picture and of course he commented on it. I am well aware that most people will not decorate with prints of a Hippopotomus bathing in a river.

After he made mention of the picture I told him that I love hippos and that when I saw that picture it made me laugh so hard I had to buy it and that it still makes me laugh everytime I look at it, even though I've had it for 7 years. (WOW! It's been 7 years since I found that picture).

Then he made the oddest comment. "Hippos. Cute and cuddly until they bite you in half."

How do you respond to that? It was such a funny thing to say but yet he said it very seriously.

He went on to tell me how dangerous they were and how they kill more people than lions. So I just told him that they don't eat the people though. It was such a strange conversation. Thinking back on it, I have to laugh.
