Tracie, Just Tracie

Because I miss my friends who are now all over the country (and globe) I decided to follow the crowd and let you know what I am up to without overcrowding inboxes with mass emails (which no one likes anyway). This is nothing spectacular. It is just my thoughts on life and things I have been doing to keep myself busy and entertained.

Pick Up Lines

So, I think I mentioned that I am in charge of the "Welcome Team" for my church's singles group. Well, yesterday all of the leaders put on a very funny skit to show those who attend how they can become involved.

To summarize the skit in the simplest way, the skit went like this: One girl was looking for opportunities so a coordinator began telling her of different possibilities and the leader for each one came out to talk about their role and ways to get involved but first we had really rediculous things to say. When I came out I told Diane, "Oh, I'll show you what the welcome team does" then went out to the crowd and found a guy and used some funny pickup lines on him.

My mistake with this was going to the nearest guy (since I had Abel with me and wouldn't be able to run back to tell the 'real' story) and this guy happened to be my friend Todd. I chose him because I thought he would be the least likely to be embarrassed but he kept answering me which made me laugh and threw off my concentration! "Hi, I'm Tracie and if you were a booger I'd pick you first" then he said "I'm taken, sorry." Then, "I'm Tracie but I have amnesia. Do I come here often?" he said "you must have amnesia because I'm engaged" I was able to get a third in "I'm Tracie and I think we would look cute on a wedding cake together" and he said something to that too but I can't remember so I tried the 4th and after I said "I'm Tracie" he cut me off and said "Hey, want to go sing Karaoke?" so I just left him and moved on to the next guy and said "I'm Tracie and you must be religious because you are the answer to all my prayers".

It was very funny. Todd really made it funny though because, like I said, I was not expecting him to answer. He's a very funny guy. He's one of the guys I go out with on Wednesday nights when we go to Gullifty's for Karaoke (which, incedentally, is right down the road from my future home). He always does the funniest songs too! Once it was Milkshake! He did Mambo #5 the last time I was out with him. Very funny.
